Karaganda State Medical University (KSMU), established in 1950, ranks among the premier medical institutions in Kazakhstan. Recognized as the country’s first medical university, KSMU holds the 8th position in the National Accreditation Centre’s ranking of the top 60 universities across Kazakhstan.

In 2005, KSMU achieved certification under the International Standard ISO 9001-2000 for comprehensive quality management, accredited by the NQA— the Russian branch of the UK’s leading certification authority, NQA Global Assurance. This certification reflects the university’s commitment to maintaining high standards in education and administration.

KSMU provides multi-level training programs, offering bachelor’s, postgraduate, and additional professional courses to students worldwide. The university delivers instruction in both Russian and English, attracting over 8,000 students pursuing MBBS and other medical degrees.
