ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Founded in 1930, Akaki Tsereteli State University stands today as one of Georgia’s foremost and highly respected educational institutions. Because of its advanced research and quality education, it has earned international acclaim. The university was created following the separation from Tbilisi State University’s former structure.

The University delivers diverse academic and professional programs while actively engaging in innovative research projects. The university respects Phase and Gelati scholarly legacies while implementing the “Great Charter of Universities” and national plus European education policies. Furthermore, it strives to provide excellent education and research opportunities that foster student growth and development. Ultimately, the University supports students in building strong personalities and advancing professionally as future leaders.

The University consistently strives to support national progress and acknowledges its duty to serve the community. Moreover, it seeks to provide comprehensive educational programs and services to foster advanced knowledge. Consequently, it engages diverse groups in shaping public policies and promoting informed decision-making.

Established in 1995, the Faculty of Medicine is one of the university’s newest departments offering diverse academic programs. Furthermore, it provides joint curricula and various educational activities to enhance student learning experiences. In 2014, the faculty joined AMEE, the Medical Education Association, expanding its international connections. Subsequently, in 2015, it gained recognition from WHO and was included in the IMED directory.

The Faculty of Medicine employs 8 professors, 15 associate professors, and 8 assistant professors with diverse expertise. Moreover, several consultants from various international organizations actively contribute to the faculty’s academic programs.

PROGRAMS

  • The Department of Clinical Medicine offers comprehensive training focused on patient diagnosis and treatment through practical and theoretical learning.
  • The Department of Pharmacy provides education in medication development, safety, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care.
  • The Department of Dentistry specializes in oral health education, preparing students for clinical dental practice and research.
