ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Omsk State Medical University operates as a renowned medical institution situated in Omsk, a prominent city in Russia. The institution started in 1920 as Siberian Veterinary and Zoology Institute, providing basic medical science courses. In 1921, officials reorganized the school and renamed it West Siberian State Medical Institute to broaden academics. In 1925, officials changed the university’s name to Omsk State Medical Institute to better reflect its evolving medical focus. In 1994, the university was renamed Omsk State Medical Academy, highlighting its development into a focused medical education center.
